  • It will happen here again: Reflecting on the LA fires and what it means for Bay Area fire prevention hosted by the Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford. The video can be viewed here.

  • Some tips for Escape Planning brought to you by FEMA, the NFPA and the US Fire Administration:

How fast does fire move? Very fast. You could have less than 2 minutes to get out safely once the smoke alarm sounds. Every second counts, plan 2 ways out!

7-step escape plan: Map, find exits, unblock paths, choose a meeting spot, test alarms, practice drill, get outside safely.

For more information about escape planning, visit: www.usfa.fema.gov  and www.nfpa.org. Inverness and Point Reyes specific evacuation route planning maps can be found here, courtesy of MWPA.
